RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary role is to work with the pastors and ministry partners to plan and execute the contemporary worship service at College Hill Presbyterian. The primary responsibility is to select music, lead, and direct the band so that the congregation is drawn into worship of God.
Specific DutiesSpecific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise all aspects of Contemporary Worship, including planning and directing music and liturgy, plus non-technical functions of visual and sound media to support the live in-person worship.
- Provide musical and liturgical elements that encompass a variety of styles in a contemporary format including dance, song, readings, and instruments that flow well with the Sunday theme based on the sermon topic and text.
- Work with Preachers to provide liturgical elements for Contemporary service (e.g., Call to Worship and Prayer of Confession)
- Inform other worship leaders of liturgical elements and schedule through planning software (e.g., Worship Planning and Proclaim).
- Oversee Proclaim and Worship Planning programs for the Contemporary Service and joint services.
- Oversee the music ministry of Contemporary Worship that will include a live worship band, other forms of singing (i.e., solos, duets, and specialty groups) and other artistic expressions.
- Schedule all band members and vocalists for Contemporary Worship.Provide musical elements to musicians and singers so they will be properly prepared on Sunday morning.
- Oversee set-up of Contemporary Worship Space for Sunday morning. Ensure the room is set up properly and is welcoming.
- Identify, schedule, and coordinate special music and special guests in Contemporary Worship including other church groups, e.g., Jesus University.
- Lead and plan special services (i.e., during Advent and Lent) in conjunction with Director of Traditional Worship.
- Operate within the Contemporary Worship budget.
- Confer weekly with Senior Pastor for evaluation and planning of worship services.
- Coordinate with Director of Traditional Worship when needed for special worship events or shared musicians.
- Part- time position 20 hours a week including rehearsal, Sunday morning worship, and weekly attendance at staff meetings (in-person or remote).
- Participate in outreach events and other whole church events as part of the Leadership Team.
- Recruit new members for the music ministry.
- Lead and develop congregational singing.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required
- Demonstrate a committed and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- High level musical skills.
- Ability to tap and coordinate strong musicians for various teams, nurture/coach up-and-comers, and build/maintain positive team spirit.
- Ability to interact with people from different cultural backgrounds.
