International Housing Facilitator (Dorm Parent)

International House Parents are responsible for cultivating a safe, nurturing, structured and comfortable home 
environment for TKA international students. International House Parents must be able to develop strong 
relationships with students; grounded in compassion, mutual respect, and consistency. International House Parents 
will take a proactive and hands-on approach; working with students to solve problems and conflicts and offering
guidance when necessary. All requirements of this position are to be performed in line with TKA’s Statement of 
Faith and Role Model Guidelines.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Acting as “In Loco Parentis” for six international students; parenting their social, academic, and spiritual 
development during their tenure at The King’s Academy. 
• Advocating for students inside and outside of school.
• Developing and supporting student’s talents and interests regarding extracurricular activities.
• Procurement, preparation, and provision of food that is nutritious, plentiful, accommodating to any special 
dietary restrictions, or allergy issues, and to a high standard of living and reflective of TKA’s commitment to 
duty of care.
• Meeting student transportation needs. 
• Meeting students’ general medical needs – arranging appointments etc. 
• Cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep of respective dormitories

Expected Education, Competencies and Experience:
• Experience creating & building authentic and productive cross-cultural relationships
• Experience in student residential care
• Able to operate a 12 passenger van 
• Able to prepare daily meals for eight people 
• Extremely organized - able to multi-task and pivot quickly                                                                                                                                        •Able to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies & regulations                                                                    • Excellent communication & inter-personal skills
