About the Organization:

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) is an expression of the Protestant Reformation led by John Calvin in Switzerland in the 1500’s that was subsequently developed by John Knox in Scotland in the same century. When the EPC started in 1981, the assembly determined that the fellowship would agree on the basic essentials of the Christian faith, but on anything that was not essential, each was allowed liberty. Above all, the EPC committed themselves to loving each other and not engaging in quarrels and strife, a legacy of respect, honor, and integrity that has carried through over the years successfully continuing through the present day.

Today, more than 600 local EPC churches are committed to carrying out God’s mission in their community and around the world, and are the primary building block to fulfilling the EPC’s vision of being a global movement of congregations engaged together in God’s mission through transformation, multiplication, and effective biblical leadership, embodying Jesus’ love to our neighbors near and far. The ultimate desire of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church is that each EPC congregation would be an outpost of the Kingdom, with every member viewing himself or herself as a missionary on a mission.
